I hear costume pickup is going to be the last week in February.
And that goes for EVERYONE overseas masqueraders and local! Find someone to pick up your costume and hold for you if you won't be in Trinidad by then because, and I quote from YUMA:
YUMA, theme: Zodeak, section: Taurus (frontline) |
We strongly advise you against leaving your costume for collection on Carnival Saturday. This may be confirmed as our open day and if times work against you, your costume may be sold to someone else. We urge you to stay tuned to our Facebook page and our website for all updates on our distribution dates and have someone come to collect on your behalf with the previously specified documents [YUMA's standard letter naming person and listing registration number, authorizing pickup--i suggest also specifying it's not a sale!...as well as a copy of 2 forms of the owner's ID, e.g. a driver's license plus a passport]. PLEASE make an effort to collect your costumes on the dates that will be released in the future.
In the future, we will most definitely have a system better figured out in accommodating our overseas masqueraders.
Thanks for your understanding.
Best Regards,
Team YUMA

*EDIT* Update from YUMA as of Wednesday March 26, 8:43pm eastern:
This year, we URGE our LOCALLY BASED masqueraders to collect their costumes on the designated days to leave Carnival Saturday AM as free as possible for our foreign based crew to have a stress free collection process. Again, we hope that by sharing this information early, it can assist you in making the necessary plans in advance. Local YUMAs - do your part - please collect on your designated dates!
