Jamaica: Champs 2011 Coverage Courtesy Sportsmax Livestream!

Wow that was exciting...nearly forgot to breathe sometimes! Think I might check back in for the CARIFTA Games if they stream it!

Check out SportsMax's Livestream coverage on the Eloquence, Inc. YouTube page!

The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Boys & Girls Championships, more commonly known as Champs, is a 150-year track and field tradition in Jamaica and has been the proving ground that produced and continues to produce Jamaica's Olympic-class athletes, including Usain Bolt and Melaine Walker.

Even Norman Manley, father of former Prime Minister of Jamaica Michael Manley, was reported to have won gold for JC (Jamaica College) in the 100 metre dash in his day...right here at Champs!

and the man whose name graces one of Jamaica's international airports!

More information on Champs can be found here and on Wikipedia.  Also read the Jamaica Gleaner's Champs coverage.

And of course some YouTube videos like the ones below!

Congratulations to Holmwood Technical for being girls 2011 Champs winners and to Jamaica College for being boys 2011 Champs winners!

Even though I was rooting for Kingston College (KC), the school many of the males on my father's side of family attended!
