ROCKWILDAZ liked the blog so much they asked if I want to work with them!

IF??!!

Is that even a question? lol!

I LOVE Rockwildaz!  Always referring anyone who wants to know where the hot events are in Jamaica over to their Facebook page!

And they're on twitter too: @rockwildaz!

It's amazing how just doing something I love can make unexpected people take notice and lead from one thing to another! :-)

As my friend (and the one who inspired me to take my interests to a blog of my own and off the small world of just my Facebook friends) said:

Jamaica Star : Lady Saw opens studio - Artiste eager to produce Vybz Kartel : Entertainment : December 17, 2010

I have to say, our beloved Olympic track star Merlene Ottey could take a page from one of our most famous female dancehall stars! Lady Saw has used her career and her fame to make a positive contribution to those coming behind her in our society...from adoption and the beautiful song she made about women who cannot have biological children, to her studio to help the future dancehall stars in the generations after her. Say what you want about dancehall but it has given many a Jamaican a future where he formerly had none, and has kept some from a life of crime and poverty.

Plus, Lady Saw has always been known as a straight shooter, she says what's on her mind and truth be told, her lyrics are raw but guaranteed she says what many women are thinking but trained not to say!

R.I.P. -- remembering through my friend's favourite song: music unites us!

My recently deceased friend's favourite song...he was from the US Virgin Islands and I am from Jamaica, but it never ceases to amaze me how dancehall, reggae, and other music unites people across national, cultural, racial, socio-economic, and even religious barriers...

Playing it in memoriam...
