4) Large pics of the costume (preferably with close ups of the waistband and headpiece)

5) The carnival you will need footwear for (i.e. Labor Day, Boston, Grenada, Trinidad, etc.)

6) A list of the embellishments that you will like to see on the boot.

7) The grand total (including the mandatory service charge of $5.00 for sneakers/low sandals/booties ($10.00 for high boots/high sandals)
As far as payment is concerned, you have the option of:

A) Dropping your footwear and payment off to me at a location of your choice...

B) Mailing the footwear and paying via paypal- my address will be provided to you via email.

If you do not have footwear and are ordering online, order a size bigger to ensure that they will fit, and have them shipped directly to me.

RECEIPTS WILL BE GIVEN/MAILED BACK AND SIGNED BY ME FOR ALL MONIES RECEIVED (IF PAID ELECTRONICALLY, PLEASE PRINT YOUR RECEIPT)

2) There is a deposit of $25.00 required on all orders unless otherwise discussed.

D'Krewe Carnival Band has launched "Rhythms" and the vibes NICE!

I just have a special place in my carnival heart for this band...if YUMA hadn't come on the scene I probably would have waited for D'Krewe to launch, but this year I needed my motivation a little earlier than their October 23 launch date, lol!  They have always given me PERSONAL, friendly attention, even though they have never met me, and that's two (carnival) years running now!  I wanted to go for 2010 so last year in 2009 I was in contact with them, wanting to play Comancheros (theme last year was Salvaje and it was HOTTTT).  Even though the plans fell through, the customer service hasn't so they always get ratings from me!  That is why they are getting another blog post from me even though, as you may have noticed, I am pretty much done with the whole band launch fever now that I have chosen a band and gotten in a section!  If you want non-stop band reviews check Saucy's blog, Trinidadcarnivaldiary -- just the name alone tells you what it's all about!

My absolute favourite costume from D'Krewe for 2011 is TEMPO!  The colours are just vibrant and BEAUTIFUL, and I like the big headpiece (as compared to, say, the section Drums).  I notice most of their sections do not have a frontline...wondering what the reasoning is behind that but liking it anyway because it does  make me think of affordability (not that I am overpaying for my frontline, it's actually a little lower than what I budgeted!).

I look at that costume and say now this carnival, this is MAS!  Anyone not in a section yet should get in this!

2nd runner-up: Iron & Steel...you get the metallic sense from looking at the costume, and the extra swirls and beading are just a nice touch to me.  I love that splash of blue feathers...adds the fun and some softness and helps make it another beautiful costume!  That particular shade of blue is hot!

D'Krewe Carnival Sneak Peeks! Band Launching "Rhythms" this Saturday October 23!

I really like this band, if only they had launched earlier I'd be with them!

So who planning out their workout/eating/saving habits for the next four months?

I'm not even going to say much about the saving $$$ part, we all know that needs to be done!  Make your cheques direct deposit if you haven't already, and then set automatic transfers to a separate vacation savings account every payday so it's gone before you'll miss it, and you can see the savings for Trinidad alone piling up on their own!

Now on to to what REALLY gets people during the fall and winter:

It's hard to stay motivated as it gets colder and colder, but even if you not trying to lose or gain, remember you need to be in the gym just to develop the stamina to LAST from Carnival Wednesday to Ash Wednesday!  You could be fine with your fat or fine with your muscle and tone, but it won't be fine if you're about to pass out halfway through carnival Monday or quarter-way through carnival Tuesday and worse, end up going home or having to get medical attention on the road!

We all know all shapes and sizes are out there on the road, so let's forget the mad rush to get into model shape for a minute and focus on some reality: you need to have some STAMINA to get through the unusually small amounts of sleep coupled with unusually large amounts of fete-ing, drinking, liming, wining, dining, palancing...lol!  It's not just about how you look outside, even if you have zero intention of giving up your cakes and cookies, make sure you ready for carnival on the INSIDE!

Time for me to blow up a big picture of the front and back of my costume! It's getting cold, I need all the motivation I can get!

FOUR MONTHS TO TRINIDAD CARNIVAL 2011!

Trinidad carnival is basically only FOUR MONTHS AWAY!! Time is passing FAST-are you getting ready?
