Trinidad Carnival 2012: Explosion Carnival Has Launched!

Back on the grind, carnival is around the corner!

Brand new band Explosion Carnival gives us yet another option with their costumes displaying their theme "World on Fire", launched Sunday, August 28, in the nearly endless stream of bands and costumes available for Trinidad Carnival 2012!

Trinidad Carnival 2012 - Flexible Trip Planning With Eloquence, Inc! Traveling Alone or With Group, Book NOW!

Deals are slipping away on airfare and housing for Trinidad Carnival 2012!  But even for latecomers just getting started on their travel plans, I can find something within their budget if they are flexible.

Eloquence, Inc. can offer either a structured bi-monthly all-inclusive payment plan (suitable for early birds) or a prioritized flexible payment option which takes care of deposit and balance payments in order of priority and leaves the billing of other items until later in the cycle.  You also have the option to fly on the Eloquence, Inc. group reservation (layaway plan) or have me book your own dates/times (full payment in advance of purchase).

For example, someone who has started their travel planning with me in July can make even payments because the deadlines are far away and more months to divide the payments over means lower payments.

But someone who has just contacted me in September, October, November, December... is going to find that due to the minimums necessary to cover especially housing and airfare by the deadlines, the payments would be too high.  However, if billed in order of priority, the major deposits can be handled and other items such as fetes and J'ouvert that begin taking deposits later do not end up as part of the billed payments along with housing and airfare.

This is basically a benefit to you to allow you to space out the expense so that your vacation can be organized, stress free, and most of all affordable!

Please note that options in every category dwindle FAST so once certain options are sold out, you will have to lower your expectations on luxury and convenience, or dig significantly deeper into your pockets!

Costumes, housing, and fetes are each various different prices...it is best to keep your price flexibility at this late stage of the game by NOT insisting on a fixed payment schedule.  I keep that option available to you, though, so that the people who like the TRIBE type of mas band, the Carlton Savannah type of housing, and the Brian Lara type of all-inclusive fete are not forced to find a middle ground on their vacation with the people who care more about affording the costume than about what band they are wearing it in, about dropping the bags and showering at a place with a/c, private bath, and clean beds, no frills, and who can enjoy themselves in the regular admission section of fetes instead of needing VIP or all-inclusive parties only...and for the people in between!  Package deals or flexible option, I still handle all the arrangements (or as much of it as you wish to not handle yourself) and ask you the right questions to get you what you want within your budget!

TRIBE, sold out since summer!

Early birds can have costume deposit as a priority with the bands that launched June, July, and August.  But people just now getting their money together for carnival have to make sure they are actually on a flight to carnival and actually have somewhere to stay once they get off that flight before costumes can be a concern! But there are mas bands who launch in the summer with sections still open (like D'Krewe, whose costumes are featured throughout this blog post), and bands who launch late giving plenty more options (like Pulse 8).

Trinidad Carnival 2012: Band Launch & Costume Specials Updates!

I'm BACK! Yes, I had to take an almost forced mini-vacation from the blog for...ergonomic :(...reasons (this plus my day jobs daily keystroking demands was killing my wrists!).  But I now have a lovely wrist brace keeping my hand and trigger finger safe and am ready to catch you up on all the mas NEWS!  And the news is PLENTY!  Stay tuned for more and get in touch with me ASAP if you need me to make the stress and mystery of being a part of Trinidad Carnival 2012 disappear!  The longer you wait to get started on planning, the less options you have as far as airfare, housing, and yes, costumes!  Let's DO THIS!

1. YUMA Vibe is completely sold out for their 2012 theme PRESS PLAY!  If you didn't get committee registered, weren't a past masquerader who could walk into the mas camp, and didn't have a fast trigger finger and internet connection for online registration...ouch!  Best bet if you simply cannot enjoy yourself in one of the many other mas bands for 2012 is to wait on resales from individual masqueraders and beware price gouging and the band's requirements to release costumes to other than the registered masquerader!

2. Ronnie and Caro launched their 2012 theme THE MASK OF... August 18 and already have some sections sold out!  Check out launch pictures from Trevor Carey Peters Watson and of course their facebook!

3. Islandpeople re-launched their 2012 theme SUPERHEROES after a multitude of disastrous reviews from their first launch and now have registration ongoing, along with specials that end tomorrow, September 15!

4.  NEW band for 2012 Explosion Carnival launched September 4!  Pictures on their facebook!

5. Harts Carnival has registration ongoing for their 2012 theme WRATH OF THE GODS and is selling out of sections fast...don't sleep on it!  

6.  D'Krewe Carnival has launched mas camp and online registration and already sold out of Warrior!  They had to reopen the section!  Check out all the other options for their 2012 theme PANACHE on the link above to costume launches, and on their website as well as the facebook page!  They are also offering a special on the section Elegante until September 30th, don't miss out because this section is almost gone as well!  D'Krewe welcomes old and new masqueraders and is promising no registration politics, just MAS! :)

Trinidad Carnival 2012: Launches! Islandpeople: HEROES & Harts: WRATH OF THE GODS Tomorrow Aug. 12, YUMA: PRESS PLAY Saturday Aug. 13!

Excitement in the air, two hot bands launching and the vibes (and the online streaming) begin about 24 hours from now!

YUMA showed us a teaser section!  Costume is Tyris from the game Golden Axe (theme is Press Play, so there will be sections like Spawn, Angry Birds, Call of Duty, etc!  HOTTT!)

Islandpeople Mas postponed their launch from last week and will be launching their 2012 theme HEROES tomorrow night!

Meanwhile, one of the oldest, strongest, and hottest bands has a launch coming tomorrow August 12 as well: Harts Carnival (see them on Facebook) is launching their 2012 theme, WRATH OF THE GODS, and the teaser so far, a section named Pantheon, is fierce!

Trinidad Carnival 2012: Group Flight From Miami!

I managed to get the deposit deadline extended a bit til the end of this month...this is it though, if you are trying to save money on your airfare this is the time to lock it in.  $60 is not that much to hold your space on a flight!

This leaves carnival Thursday 6:50 pm arriving 11:25pm, and returns the following Thursday 7:20am arriving 10:30am.

The benefit of this is locking in your flight price out of here because the domestic connection from where you are can always be bought on sale later from the various places everyone will be coming from, but the TRINIDAD leg of the trip gets SERIOUSLY expensive and the prices have already started climbing because the 2012 band launches have started and people are buying tickets.  The other benefit of course is not having to come up with the entire flight amount right away, this is the layaway plan, which is much more affordable for most of us.

Price includes all taxes and fees. (Does not include flight insurance.)  Airfare is nonrefundable.

Trinidad Carnival 2012: TRIBE launches Saturday July 23!

The band launch roster (missed it? see them in chronological order HERE) just officially got hotter!  Spice launches tomorrow night July 9 so it's clearly time for people planning to play mas to start getting their costume deposits in order!
