Carnival Updates: Jamaica Carnival 2011, Atlanta Carnival 2011, Trinidad Carnival 2012!

Took a blog break to sort out some other things...and because I wanted the Jamaica blogs to stay near the top a while longer since they are quite a read and take a little time to check all the links (although the men so far seem to just head straight to the pictures...smh).

But the news has been piling up...I already missed the first reports of Shurwayne at Mas Camp for Jamaica Carnival (see that oh so hot picture below from Bachannal Jamaica) so it's time to get back in the game.  Let's do it:

Trinidad Carnival 2011 and Jamaica Carnival 2011 Updates!

• YUMA has released the 2011 costume collection schedule--band members check your email or contact info@yumavibe.com!  Masqueraders IN Trinidad must pickup on the scheduled days for each section, and the mas camp is CLOSED Carnival Friday.  Masqueraders abroad can have someone pickup their costume on their behalf (see the email for documentation needed!) or pickup on Carnival Saturday, March 6, 2011 (please note the Mas Camp open/close TIMES!).

• Bacchanal Jamaica is now selling tickets to Jamaica Carnival's official opening night at Mas Camp, as well as season passes.  From Facebook: 

Tickets for Mas Camp are $1000 AT GATE / $800 PRESOLD - Season passes for all 9 are $12,000 - Appleton and Smirnoff: $1000 will get you 7 drink chits.

• D'Krewe has a Facebook photo album tour of the mas camp up so you can see both outside and in!

• DreamTeam Carnival announced which sections are NOT sold out:

• TRIBE announced TRIBE Ignite, an annual carnival Thursday (Thursday before carnival) fete:

• IslandPeople announced their fast-track pre-payment deadline for the full balance of costumes is Saturday, February 19th:

• HARTS reminds their masqueraders that the pre-payment deadline is (coincidentally) February 19th:

• Ronnie & Caro says the whole band will be wearing ORANGE on carnival Monday:

Jamaica Carnival 2011: Bacchanal Jamaica SOLD OUT sections update!

If you're headed to Jamaica for carnival, don't sleep!  Sections are moving fast!

Please read: Bacchanal Jamaica would like to thank its revellers for the overwhelming support it has received thus far, for its 2011 presentation, “Once Upon a Dynasty”. The unprecedented demand for costumes has left us with three sold out sections [and Macedonia per an update from the Facebook wall], in less than three days! We are aware that many of you were disappointed by the fact that you were unable to get into the section of your choice, particularly as regards the Pure Country sponsored costumes, Shangri La and Avalon. Bacchanal Jamaica is therefore in the process of determining whether it will be able to (a) add additional costumes to these sections; or (b) add a third section sponsored by Pure Country. 

If you are interested in joining a wait list for the additional costumes or new section, kindly email costumes@bacchanaljamaica.com and provide your name, contact information and sizes (bra, bikini bottom and belt/hip). Bacchanal Jamaica cannot guarantee that you will get the costume requested, as these costumes will be sold on a first come, first serve basis, to persons on the wait list, subject to availability. We will also not be transferring or cancelling registrations made for other sections in order to facilitate persons switching to these costumes. 

We should know within the next seven days whether we will be able to provide additional costumes or if we will be introducing a new section and we will update persons on the waitlist accordingly.
